Hectograph is described as a 19th-century process for duplicating documents using aniline dyes.

Hectograph is defined also as a contrivance for multiple copying, by means of a surface of gelatin softened with glycerin. It is an obsolete form of printing using a gel bed and soluble dyes, capable of reproducing colour art inexpensively.It is also known as hecto or hekto.
