Damask pertains to a kind of textile used for furniture upholstery. It is a silk with elaborate floral design woven in flatter than brocade and reversible, where the color of the pattern on reverse side changed. Damask is named after the ancient city of Damascus, where elaborate floral designs were woven in silk, however, damask is flatter than brocade.
