Waste management to increase economical value in mining and metallurgical
activities - proposal of recovery of valued products from copper slag.
Today, only a small fraction of copper slag in Chile is retreated -
reprocessing manily by flotation processes to produce copper concentrat,
which is sent to the smelter. Also, some small amount of copper slag is
utilized as abrasive materials, road construction materials and glass wool
production. Important to calculate the potential economical value of the
slag produced in World, in order to recover different final product, such
as metals of Cu, Mo, Ag and Au, iron oxides and pure silica. The chemical
composition for the copper slag assumed for the calculation was:
Au - 0,05 g/ton, Ag - 2,0 g/ton, Cu - 0,8%, Mo - 0,3%, Iron oxides ( FeO
and Fe2O3) - 40% and SiO2 - 10%.....etc
It is estimated a slag production of 1,0 million ton/year. The estimated
potential value for the project is US$ (100 - 150)/ton copper slag + Fe3O4
+ SiO2
The main problem with copper smelting slag is with landfilling is not only
the land space area which is used for copper smelting slag deposed every
year but many environmental problems, high disposal and transport cost are
associated with the landfilling of these slag. Therefore, the focus of
environmental policy is now into waste minimization and its recycling to
minimize transport and disposal cost saving resources as well as land
space. Copper smelting slag contains many useful metals and slag making
oxides, which can be recovered and recycled as inert slag for cement
production and building roads. I have had this new patent with zero/minimal
slag waste - ecology patent. I wish to sell this patent.
I have offered patent to addition quantity/recovery of copper, gold,
silver, Pt-group metals, and other products and etc.. My patent: **"Treatment
complexe recovery of copper (by-product copper-100, by-product copper - 1,
by-product copper - 2, by-product copper - 3, copper product into grade
copper concentrate - 4, and precious metals into product - 5 ( new
technology of recovery gold, silver and Pt-group metals into "n-k"product
), and with zero/minimal of final tailings to used for road or cement from
copper slag which have disposed on waste disposal area as product operative
work of smelter copper plants". Products at operative work of copper slag
processing plant through its the first copper phase/stage work from
21.09.2001 to 21.09.2009. and at LME and GFMS from 14.04.2010 is showed
table down. Investion for reconstruction old plant in the first stage slag
