A Forklift truck is described as a three or four wheeled mechanical truck with forks at the front designed for lifting, carrying and stowing car.

It is a high-lift, self-loading truck, equipped with load carriage and forks, for transporting and tiering loads. A machine which can raise and lower freight, and move it to different locations. It is also known as a tow motor, Hyster, lift truck, or hi-lo.

They are used in ports for handling containers and other heavy loads as well as in heavy industries for handling like timber, pulp, paper and steel.
