Hypoid gear

Hypoid gear is driven by a worm-like drive on non-intersecting axes, and has a specially formed teeth on a circular face . Hypoid gears can be anti-backlash, which mean that they have an assist, typically one or more springs, which eliminate backlash in the gear mesh.
