Description
This division includes manufacture of wooden products, such as lumber, plywood, veneers, wooden containers, wooden flooring, wooden trusses and prefabricated wooden buildings. The production processes include sawing, planing, shaping, laminating and assembling of wooden products starting from logs that are cut into bolts, or lumber that then may be further cut, or shaped by lathes or other shaping tools. The lumber or other transformed wooden shapes may also be subsequently planed or smoothed, and assembled into finished products, such as wooden containers.
With the exception of sawmills and wood preservation units, the units are grouped into industries mainly based on the specific products manufactured.
It does not include either the manufacture of furniture (36.1), or the installation of not self-manufactured wooden fittings and the like (45.42).
