Deutsch: Motor / Español: Motor / Português: Motor / Français: Moteur / Italiano: Motore

An engine or motor is a machine designed to convert energy into useful mechanical motion. Heat engines, including internal combustion engines and external combustion engines (such as steam engines) burn a fuel to create heat, which then creates motion. Electric motors convert electrical energy into mechanical motion, pneumatic motors use compressed air and others such as clockwork motors in wind-up toys use elastic energy. In biological systems, molecular motors, like myosins in muscles, use chemical energy to create motion.

Enclosed laser device is defined as any laser or laser system located within an enclosure which does not permit hazardous optical radiation emission from the enclosure. The laser inside is termed an embedded laser.

An Electrode pertains to the site, area or location at which electrochemical processes take place.

Earthenware is referred to as a clay body which is fired to relatively low temperatures (below 1150C) and which, after firing remains porous in its unglazed state.

ESS is the acronym of environmental stress screening and stands for Energy Storage System.

Environmental stress screening (ESS) revolves around the manufacturing stage in which all assemblies are subjected to abnormal stresses, with the aim of forcing all early failures to occur and to test the reliability of the assemblies. This process is also called reliability testing.

Emboss is described as a technique of pressing an image into paper to create a 3D or raised effect.
