Diac is a term which is defined as a two-terminal four-layer semiconductor device (thyristor) that can conduct current in either direction when properly activated.
Likewise, DIAC refers to two-terminal bidirectional semiconductor diode AC switch used for triggering a TRIAC (triode AC switch)
