Nylon is a fiber made of thermoplastic fibers melted together. Used primarily in combination with other fabrics for suit linings, outerwear linings, and hosiery. Nylon which was invented on February 28, 1935 by Wallace Carothers at the E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company of Wilmington, Delaware, USA, is a synthetic polymer - a plastic.

It was launched in 1938 together with the first nylon products - a nylon bristle toothbrush made with nylon yarn that entered into the market for sale and more famous women's stockings that was launched into the market on May 15, 1940). Nylon fibres are now used to make many synthetic fabrics while and solid nylon is used as an engineering material.
