EDM machining services providers remove metal by burning, rather than cutting or grinding.

EDM machining services providers remove metal by burning, rather than cutting or grinding. EDM comes in two forms: diesinking, which uses a machined graphite or copper electrode to burn a desired shape into a workpiece, and wire cutting, which uses a very thin wire to cut the workpiece.

EDM machining services can be one of two types, wire EDM or electrode EDM. Wire EDM is a type of EDM machine that uses a wire to cut parts. Electrode EDM is a type of EDM machine that uses a shaped diesinker or electrode to cut parts.
