Honing tool are abrasive segments affixed to the periphery of a tool head and used to bring internal bores to an accurate, fine finish. Most often used for precision sizing and finishing of bores but can be used to hone other shapes and to impart thin, ultrasharp cutting edges. It maybe hand-held for for certain applications.
