Corn whisky is a kind of non-distilled beverages and defined by the ATF as whisky produced under 160? proof, from a fermented mash containing not less than 80 per cent corn grain.

ATF stipulates however, that if corn whisky is stored in oak barrels, the proof should not be more than 125?, and that the barrels be used, or if new it must be uncharred. Furthermore, the whisky cannot be subjected to any treatment with charred wood.
