Hickory is characterized as a strong, open-grained hardwood known for wide variation of color and texture. Works well to express the beauty and character aspects of real wood. A unique, wilder wood with beautiful, active textures that range from light to mid to dark to gray tones.

Sometimes, the texture's span will be broader than other times. This texture pattern is very popular with more casual styles, such as Restful Retreat, in design planning. The boldness of hickory also works well with stronger decorating colors. To even-out the tone, select medium to darker stain colors. To accentuate the activity of the wood texture, select lighter stain ranges.
