Ultrasound refers to the use of sound waves with frequencies above the range of normal hearing to examine structures inside the body.

Most pregnant women nowadays are undergoing ultrasound procedure to be able to know the gender of their unborn babies or to know if the babies inside their wombs are in the proper position.
