Heading refers to the direction toward which an aircraft,boat or ocean vessel is oriented or is pointing at a given moment. A heading may be with reference to true north or magnetic north. The heading and course may be different, especially in air navigation, because of drift.

Heading also pertains to a small diameter tunnel for pipes and access,never for trains or narrow boats.
