Bunker fuel is a kind of fuel supplied to ships and aircraft, both domestic and foreign, consisting primarily of residual and distillate fuel oil for ships and kerosene-based jet fuel for aircraft.
The term international bunker fuel is used to denote the consumption of fuel for international transport activities. Historically, bunker fuels have meant only as ship fuel.
Bunker fuel - includes all fuels and blends made from residues remaining from the primary distilling stages of the refining process. These fuels are normally used to propel ships, for the manufacturing of asphalt and, in some cases, to produce petroleum coke used in blast furnaces for steel production, it is supplied to aircraft, both domestic and foreign, consisting primarily of residual and distillate fuel oil for ships and kerosene-based jet fuel for aircraft, respectively..
