In an industrial or industry context, a computer refers to a machine or device that is specifically designed and programmed to perform automated tasks, process data, and control industrial equipment and machinery. Industrial computers, also known as industrial PCs, are built to withstand harsh environments and operate in extreme temperatures, vibration, and dust. They are often used in manufacturing, robotics, transportation, and other industrial applications. Some examples of industrial computers include programmable logic controllers (PLCs), industrial personal computers (IPCs), and human-machine interfaces (HMIs). These devices can be used to control and monitor industrial equipment and machinery, such as conveyors, robots, and assembly lines.
