The term cartridge may refer to the following:

  • a type of enclosure or casing for various magnetic tape-based audio and data storage media
  • a consumable component of a laser or inkjet printer containing toner powder or ink necessary for printing
  • a removable enclosure containing ROM (read-only memory) or RAM (random access memory) designed to be connected to a consumer electronics device, such as a computer or video game console
  • Cartridge (also round, shell), an individual piece of ammunition, generally comprised of shot or a bullet, a primer, some propellant enclosed within a case
  • Magnetic cartridge, a part of an electric phonograph, record player or turntable that converts vibrations into an electrical signal
