Sport (or sports) is all forms of usually competitive physical activity which, through casual or organised participation, aim to use, maintain or improve physical ability and skills while providing entertainment to participants, and in some cases, spectators. Hundreds of sports exist, from those requiring only two participants, through to those with hundreds of simultaneous participants, either in teams or competing as individuals.

In the industrial and industry context, "sport" is not a commonly used term, as it usually refers to physical activities and competitive events. However, the term "sport" could be used in the context of sporting goods and equipment industries, which produce and sell products used in various sporting activities and events.

Examples of sporting goods and equipment in the industrial and industry context include:

  • Athletic footwear and shoes
  • Sports clothing and apparel
  • Athletic and fitness equipment, such as weightlifting equipment, exercise machines, and gym mats
  • Sports balls, such as basketballs, soccer balls, and golf balls
  • Protective gear, such as helmets, gloves, and padding
  • Sports accessories, such as water bottles, gym bags, and fitness trackers
  • Outdoor gear and equipment, such as camping tents, backpacks, and outdoor cooking equipment
  • Sports optics, such as binoculars, spotting scopes, and rangefinders.
