Acrylic refers to a type of synthetic polymer used as the binder for high-performance water-based paints and caulks. Some acrylic polymers are used in auto finishes, appliance coatings, etc. It is a synthetic resin widely used as a latex to produce paints with good color and color retention. Acrylic latex paints may be thinned and cleaned up with water. Breeze interior and exterior latex paints in flat, eggshell and semi-gloss are all based on pure acrylic emulsions.

An anchor alarm is a feature of a GPS or other electronic navigation device or a depthsounder that sounds an audible alarm when the anchor drags and the boat shifts position. To buoy the anchor is to attach a buoy to is so it and its rode can be found if they must be abandoned. The anchor watch is the crew awake and on deckas lookouts while the boat is anchored.
