Labelling includes provisions on the name of the food and any special requirements to ensure that the consumer is not deceived or misled about the nature of the food. These provisions must be consistent with the Codex General Standard for the Labelling of Prepackaged Foods. Requirements for the listing of ingredients and date-marking are specified.
Legume is described as any of thousands of plant species that have seed pods that split along both sides when ripe. Some of the more common legumes used for human consumption are beans, lentils, peanuts, peas, and soybeans. Others, such as clover and alfalfa, are used as animal feed. Legumes have a unique ability to obtain much or all of their nitrogen requirements from symbiotic nitrogen fixation.
Lead-acid battery refers to a battery which uses lead oxide and spongy lead electrodes with sulfuric acid as an electrolyte. Generally, several cells are put in series to form a battery, such as for an automobile.

1. A bluish-white metal of bright luster, very soft, highly malleable, ductile, and a poor conductor of electricity; very resistant to corrosion; a cumulative poison. Symbol, Pb.
Lactate dehydrogenase test system is described as a device intended to measure the activity of the enzyme lactate dehydrogenase in serum. Lactate dehydrogenase measurements are used in the diagnosis and treatment of liver diseases such as acute viral hepatitis, cirrhosis, and metastatic carcinoma of the liver, cardiac diseases such as myocardial infarction, and tumors of the lung or kidneys.
A Liquid thermometer refers to a thermometer in which temperature variations are indicated by changes in the volume of a liquid. The latter is placed in a bulb, and expands (or contracts) in a capillary tube. The liquid alcohol, mercury, toluol, etc. was chosen in accordance with the range of temperatures to be measured.
