Beekeeping

Bicottura

Bicottura describes a method for producing tile by firing twice - the first fire for body while the second fire is to fuse glazes onto body. It can be produced using three different clays - red or cottoforte, yellow or majolica and white clay. Two glazes on the tile is usually present, the first is a non-transparent glaze on the body and a transparent glaze on the surface.
